Milton Keynes MP's, Mark Lancaster and Iain Stewart are delighted that after a successful bid for £8.81m of Government funding, the plans are now in place to start road improvements on the A421and Kingston roundabout.
In creating a dual carriageway, the road improvements will alleviate the current "bottleneck" on this busy stretch of road. In addition, the Kingston roundabout will also be improved by developing a signalised junction and work is expected to start here as soon as April 2014.
Mark commented that, "This is a prime example of Milton Keynes Council and Central Bedfordshire Council working together. The benefits for the continuing infrastructure of Milton Keynes will be immense".
Iain Stewart, added, "I am very glad to see these improvements are going ahead. There is a lot of work currently being undertaken in and around Milton Keynes. Millions of Government funding has been put into a wide range of infrastructure projects such as the dualling of the A421 to Bedford. The long-term gains of improvements to our infrastructure are so important.
