The corridors of Westminster are a long way from the catwalks of Paris and Milan, but this week Mark paid a visit to MK's own fashion powerhouse, Boutique 73.
The two clothing stores, situated on Church Street and Stratford Road in Wolverton, have gone from strength to strength since first opening in 2009.
Mark used the opportunity to discuss with owners Adam Prosser and Laura Kestevens how they built up the successful brand during such a difficult economic period.
Starting with just £200 and an Ebay account, Adam and Laura explained how they tapped into a gap in the MK fashion market. The shops mixture of affordable new trends and vintage finds has seen Boutique 73 top online retail charts. They are now hoping to branch out further in Wolverton, with exciting plans afoot for a third shop.
Speaking after the visit, Mark said "I am so impressed by the entrepreneurial spirit shown by Laura and Adam. I hope that as Wolverton undergoes further redevelopment, they will continue to grow their business and inspire others along the way. I found it incredible that Laura and Adam have never borrowed from the bank. It just shows you how far your passion can take you if you have a measured business model."
