Christmas card competition a huge success

The winner of this year's Christmas card competition was announced at an exhibition at MK Gallery.

The competition which has been running since 2005 is open to school children to design the front cover and seven finger-print designs on the back of the card, which is then used as Mark's Christmas card.

This year has seen a huge number of children entering the competition, which made it hard for the judges, Anthony Spira from MK Gallery and Adam Grinsell from MK News, to decide a winner.

The winning design by Megan McEvoy from Stanton school depicted two robins singing from a hymn sheet. The seven runner's-up were; Abbie Walsh and Lewis Markey from Broughton Fields School, Hannah Ranger and Grace Edser from Green Park School, Sarah Hooper from St Mary Magdalene Catholic Primary, Maeve McKinnell from Cedars Primary School and Ayla Webb from Tickford Primary.

Mark commented; 'I had a fantastic evening handing out the certificates to all the children whose designs are on my card. The designs are absolutely brilliant.'
