More positive news for the MK economy as employment figures continue to rise.
The number of unemployed in Milton Keynes North for May 2014 was recorded as 2,058. Meaning that this is 662 lower than in May 2013 and 52 lower than in April 2014.
Employment figures for the South East continue to rocket, with employment increasing by 13,000. Further growth in the youth market, for the 16-24 year olds, also records that employment is up by 61,000. For the youth of Milton Keynes these figures demonstrate a reduction by half over the last 3 years.
Nationally, the figures have shown a consistent and steady increase and today's announcement reveals that over the previous 3 months, 345,000 more people are now in employment. Also, 39,000 people have moved from part time to full time employment, evidence that the governments long-term economic plan is working.
This is another encouraging and constructive message for hardworking people living in MK. With positive MP initiatives, like the recent Jobs Fair, it proves that the Government is focussed on giving everyone the opportunity to get back into work and reap the benefits that it brings.
