Its official, Milton Keynes has the highest jobs growth in the UK.
The Centre for Cities report is an annual health-check of the economic performances of 64 of the UK's largest cities. The report reveals that there has been an 18.2% growth in employment since 2004, placing Milton Keynes ahead of London and Cambridge.
National growth between 2004 and 2013 was largely driven by only a handful of cities, mainly located in the South, which has led to a population boom in those areas and consequently their number of business grew and thousands of new jobs created.
In less than 4 months voters get to decide the UK's future, this report demonstrates how Governments actions over the last 4 years have built the platform for MK's success and drive the economy forward. There are still a number of challenges ahead but this report demonstrates UK wide that Milton Keynes is delivering a successful formula.
