I was fortunate to be the first to take a look at Coca Cola's brand new £810,000 Education Centre which opened in MK this month.
The opening marks a total of £4 million invested by CCE in its national education programme since 2011 which to date has reached over 300,000 young people.
Milton Keynes is the sixth centre to be launched and will be run by a full time General Teaching Council teacher who will provide students with a unique opportunity to develop their knowledge of the world of work. With its curriculum linked programme, visitors will have a real insight into manufacturing processes, alongside a guided tour of the factory.
Being able to make the connection between what they learn in the classroom and real-life modern manufacturing practices will be crucial to the students development.
I am delighted that the investment committed in the Education Centre will deliver sustainable career opportunities for future generations and that strong partnerships will develop between our schools, businesses and local community here in MK.
