Mark opens Newport Pagnell Post Office

Newly modernised, Newport Pagnell Post Office, 30-32 High Street, Newport Pagnell, MK16 8AQ, was officialy opened by Mark last week.

To celebrate the launch of the new style open-plan branch, subpostmaster Andrew Craddock was joined by Mark, who cut the ribbon at Newport Pagnell Post Office.

Mr Lancaster said: "I'm delighted to have officially open the new-look Newport Pagnell Post Office which I am sure will be enjoyed and well used by local residents. With the office now open on Saturday afternoon, residents will have access to the services for even longer which is a great improvement.

"I am delighted that Mr Craddock, the subpostmaster, received the funding from the Post Office to refurbish this Post Office branch and he has also invested his own money to completely refurbish his cards and gifts store. This business is a real asset to Newport Pagnell High Street."

Newport Pagnell Post Office will have four serving positions - a mixture of two screened counter positions and two open plan.

Mr Craddock said: "I didn't want to do things by halves – at the same time as my Post Office being modernised I also decided to refurbish the retail side of the business. It all looks excellent and I am delighted that I decided to take the plunge. It has made the Post Office and store look fresh and spacious, much lighter and brighter. The staff facilities have also been refurbished and the staff have new uniforms.

"I've been busy doing a leaflet drop to let people know about the extended opening hours on Saturday afternoon and the services that we provide. Last Saturday afternoon we opened for the first time and we had people in sending lots of ebay parcels and people can also do Bureau transactions and get their car tax renewed, plus all the other services that we offer.

Newport Pagnell Post Office is open Monday to Saturday 09:00 to 17:30. Customers will benefit from opening hours being extended by five hours a week as the office is now open on Saturday afternoon.
