CITY MP Mark Lancaster today celebrated the news that the Open University's FutureLearn scheme was to be expanded.
Based in Milton Keynes, the Open University created the idea of FutureLearn which offers open online courses to all from leading universities across the country.
On a trade delegation to India, the Prime Minister announced that a further 5 UK universities were to join the scheme which will see people be able to partake in courses free of charge from the comfort of their own home.
Mark said; "The Open University is based at the heart of Milton Keynes and I am delighted to hear that they progressing so quickly with their FutureLearn initiative. I know that many will be encouraged to hear that free online courses are available from some of the best universities in the country at the click of a mouse."
