City MP Mark Lancaster welcomed a visit this week to the Jesus Celebration Centre to see for himself the diverse support and services they provide.
One project, Cry of the Homeless Day Centre, based in Secklow Gate West, were delighted to have the opportunity to share their stories and to sing the praises of the project. From providing cooked meals to playing table tennis, the centre makes a vital contribution in giving their guests the foundation to rebuild their lives.
Mark said, "Whilst we are experiencing economic growth both nationally and locally, I'm always encouraged to witness the support given to those who need extra help in taking that first step forward. Sometimes it's as simple as a volunteer offering a listening ear".
