City MP Mark Lancaster recently visited the Urgent Care Centre based on the MK Hospital site.
The Urgent Care Centre is open 24 hours a day, 7days a week and provides a Doctor and Nurse treatment service for urgent problems. The out of hours service is staffed by local GPs and Nurses for urgent problems which can't safely wait until peoples local practice re-opens.
Mark was pleased to visit the centre which was opened in 2009 and has helped in reduce the number of people using A&E.
Mark said "I am really impressed with the Centre and the support it offers patients from the Milton Keynes area. It gives people a place to go with medical concerns when their doctors is closed and means that A&E can focus on the most serious cases. The doctors and nurses I met were of great credit to service and it is no wonder it is regarded so highly in our community."
