NEWS of an increase in the number of those in employment has been welcomed by the city MP Mark Lancaster who has credited this to the growth of British businesses up and down the country.
Latest figures released by the Office of National Statistics show that UK unemployment fell in August. In Milton Keynes, there was a fall of 86 in the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance.
MP Mark Lancaster said:
" Combined with this week's positive news about the re-employment of apprentices at the Wolverton works we are starting to see an improvement both nationally and locally in our economy and these figures show that. While there is lots more to do and we should not be complacent, I am pleased that so many more people are in work and things are on the up."
