An extra £744,000 will go to primary schools across Milton Keynes to develop school sport, improve coaching for the youngest pupils and help inspire the Olympic and Paralympic stars of the future.
The money comes from a £150 million Olympic legacy fund announced by the Prime Minister to improve the quality of provision in every state primary school in England.
Welcoming this announcement, MP Mark Lancaster said:
"£744,000 is a huge amount of funding which is being given directly to primary schools in Milton Keynes from central government to help secure the Olympic legacy. I have already heard from Head teachers across the city and I know that this is going to make a big impact locally, increasing both the quality and the number of sporting opportunities on offer to our youngsters."
