An oriental jewellery brand says Milton Keynes was the 'perfect choice' for its base in the UK.
AiJade Jewellery uses jade from the Hetian region of China, the same as the substance chosen by the emperors from the Ming to Qing dynasties.
And because jade symbolises peace, Milton Keynes North MP Mark Lancaster greeted AiJade's James Wang and his management team on Friday (April 19) at the city's Peace Pagoda.
Mr Lancaster said: "It's a pleasure to welcome AiJade to the city; we share strong links with our mix of ancient and modern traditions and I wish AiJade every success and a future that's as bright as their jewellery!"
AiJade donated a piece of jade and diamond jewellery which will be auctioned in aid of Willen Hospice.
AiJade Jewellery's UK President James Wang said: "Milton Keynes is the perfect choice for our UK base.
"It's a bright and exciting city and our jewellery brings a fresh young design approach to an 8,000 year old tradition. And, of course, Milton Keynes is halfway between the jewellery districts of London and Birmingham."
