New Store Creates a Buzz

An enthusiastic crowd gathered on a chilly autumn morning for the eagerly awaited opening of the new Asda in Oakridge Park.

I'm delighted that 47 new jobs have been created in this £1.6 million development. The latest opening at Oakridge Park is part of 606 stores located around the UK with over 17 million people choosing to use the brand every week. Situated within the new housing development and nearby Oakridge Park Medical Centre, the new store will quickly become a fundamental part of the community.

Katie Elmer, founder of local charity, Emily's Star, officially opened the store. Katie's charity provides emergency toiletries, baby care items and babywear to parents of premature babies and after the opening Asda generously donated a bumper package of baby items to Katie.
