A visit to meet the Year 6 children at Giffard Park School by Mark Lancaster MP was as warm as the sunshine last week.
The children had embarked upon a 'Young Enterprise' project to set up their own businesses to sell either products or a service and were keen to show me their business skills.he Year 6 children at Giffard Park School was as warm as the sunshine last week.
In true Dragons Den style, the children pitched their business ideas to the three "terrifying" Year 6 teachers. With £5 invested, the businesses took shape, selling popcorn, loom bands, making fresh lemonade and even a car washing service, aptly named Bubbles!
Having welcomed the Giffard Park School Council to a tour of the Houses of Parliament only the day before, the children bombarded me with lots of interesting questions, about how he became an MP.
The enthusiasm and vibrant atmosphere at the school was inspiring and the line of questioning was direct and honest! With my car so expertly cleaned and refreshed with homemade lemonade, who knows, Giffard Park School may just have ignited a future Richard Branson!
