Ministerial Career

Following his initially appointment following the 2010 General Election as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for International Development, Mark was made a Government Minister in the 2012 when he was appointed to be Lord Commissioner for Her Majesty's Treasury. The role is split between responsibilities as a Treasury Minister, but primarily as a Government whip where Mark is responsible for the Ministry of Defence and the Department for International Development.
